Adelaide was a great city to visit, it was a little bit smaller of a city than I was expecting it to be, but that does not mean that it wasn’t a fun city.
The second day we went to Kangaroo island, and WOW. That place was awesome. Everything from the seals, to the koalas, to all the amazing views the island has to offer were all incredible. I definitely would recommend that trip to anyone that comes to Australia. Admirals Arch was one thing that particularly stood out to me. It was amazing seeing the rock be eroded away over thousands of years to form a perfect looking arch. We also went there at the perfect time. The sun was just starting to set, and was barely visible through the top of the arch. This led to some awesome pictures being taken.
Besides that, the tour was made even better by a very knowledgeable tour guide that could answer pretty much any question we threw at him.
The last day in Adelaide, we did a wine tasting at the National Wine Center of Australia. This was another great idea for a our trip. Australia is very well known for its great wine, and it was nice to be able to learn a little about wine , and what to do when drinking wine to really be able to appreciate it.
The staff there really knew their stuff and I was able to really learn a lot about different wine types, and how much effort goes into making a great wine.
After that, we had the rest of the day free, and we were able to walk around a different part of the city than I had been to yet, while checking out a few cool bars along the way.
Overall, Adelaide was a great first city to visit, and think that anyone coming to Australia should at least visit it for a day or two, and take in some of all the great attractions the city has to offer.
On a side note, the classic market about a block away from the hotel was awesome. I spent about 3 hours walking through there trying all different sorts of food they had to offer, and was able to try some Australian classics. There was a free sample of kangaroo there, you can’t get much more Australian than that!!
